NEW RELEASES OUT ON BACHELOR
Guess what, the release party ot THE SHIRLEY MACLAINES was a blast, a lot of people showed up and made this the perfect start for the 2012 punk show season. Thanks also to Kristen Zoller and Albert K. Putnik who gave them peeps more than a reason to dance until 5 AM. The next CHOKE MEDIA EMPIRE show is scheduled for April 7th, with HEAD from Seattle and THE REEKYS from Munich. Yeah, strange, I know. It't 2012, not 1997... haha.

Aside of the SHIRLEY MACLAINES 7" we've got some new records on our BACHELOR RECORDS label. First its a single by Anaheim's THEE MAKEOUT PARTY, a classic two song 45 plus a set of crayons, so you can color the sleeve just like you want it to be. The songs, Jungle Cruise and Bittersweet Bubblegum are of course fine powerpop / 60ties jangle pearls, no surprise at all... Plus we have THE FLIP-TOPS - Are Still A Band LP out, more than 10 years after they did their debut LP on Rip Off Records. As you may know, from the ashes of THE FLIP-TOPS the MINDS were born... and now its vice versa... You can check out some songs here and buy them records here.

NEW LIVE SHOWS BOOKED
Yeah right Innsbruck is pretty boring when we dont put on shows, especially for garage punksters. Poop Punk freaks had their fun at the Monster Zero Mash, we didnt. So here are some new shows for you! First up is the SHIRLEY MACLAINES record release party on friday january 16th at the PMK. Our cash cow BACHELOR RECORDING CO. is about to release the second single of this infamous girl gang, official release date is January 16th, but if you're cool you buy them at the release show. We also organized professional DJ Team to entertain you all night long. Look here or on Facebook for more details.

Next up is another evidence why we have a unique selling position when it comes to garage punk: HEAD is coming to town. We just inked the deal, date is set, more info will follow soonish. Dont miss this, as old as they are this might be the last time to witness them. They are not the fukken Stones, they wont be around forever.

SUMFIN 2 READ
Well, other zines are not as lazy as we are, so here is a roundup of rags we recieved lately...

RUBBERNECK is a rather new but nice photo magazine, good quality, printed b/w on kinda glossy paper, volume II has a lot of pages, volume III even more, its the Gonerfest edition. There are 300 numbered copies of each and it can be purchased via their website at www.rubberneckzine.com, I think maybe they figured out the postage costs to euroland by now. Its fun to look at these pictures of young and old bands totally wasted on and off stage. Recommendation!

SKUG is an austrian music magazine, the current ish has DIE BAMBIS on the cover, which is of course the only good band featured, the rest of this rag is boring and the crap they write about is way to artsy. Its good if you have problems with sleeping, just take this zine and read the article about avantgarde blues, you'll fall asleep within three sentences. I did.

VICE Volume 5 Number 9. Ok ok its an advertising mag but i just wanted to give a big THANKS to them cause they are the only austrian music zine / blog / whatever that trashed the new NINO AUS WIEN record. Its unbelievable how many crappy records come from the eastern part of austria, but nearly all of them get fantastic reviews and airplay. I think its called nepotism. Thumbs up, Vice, although you try to be the next MTV.

HIGH HEELS SLUT is a classic punk zine, A5 format and simple layout, a lot of reviews and standards. With SPIVS, ROCKED REDUCERS, SHARP OBJECTS, SPIDER BABIES, TUNDRA FUCKS and more. You see, its the hard hitting side of punkrock. Ok for 1,50 Euros. This is issue 11 that just came out, after about 5 years (?) of silence....
